Actor Hugh Laurie is continuing his foray into the music world — he appears on Meat Loaf’s forthcoming album.

The “House” actor became friends with the singer after Meat Loaf played a patient on the hit medical drama last year.

The 62-year-old musician was keen to work with Laurie again and asked him to play piano on his upcoming album, “Hang Cool Teddy Bear,” which is due for release in April.

Laurie also plays guitar, drums, harmonica and saxophone and fronts the all-star group Band From TV.

THIS A BIG SPOILERS, SO DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T LIKE TO BE SPOILER BUT IT’S HAPPY NEWS FOR US HUDDY!

The prognosis on Huddy is in, and it’s excellent.

I just hung up with House creator David Shore, and — no beating around the bush here — he promised me, “Eventually, it’s going to happen. This is the thing we’ve been dancing around — even before we knew we were dancing around it. They’re two very flawed people, but they’re two people that are very attracted to each other.

“I’m a Huddy fan, [too],” Shore added. “Just keep watching the show. It’ll happen eventually.”

I can confirm that there was not a single qualifier in that sentence. I listened to the tape three times. Not a single “maybe” or “possibly” in there. Go ahead and reread it; I’ll wait.

Coincidentally, Shore also happens to be in the middle of breaking this season’s final episodes. Could it possibly culminate with real, non-hallucinatory lovemaking? My gut is telling me yes.

What’s yours saying? And do you worry that when Huddy finally does happen, a part of you might actually miss the waiting game we (and they!) have been playing for so long? Debate, discuss, deliberate below.

Hugh Laurie’s inimitable role on House is doubtless a full-time job, and for the better part of the show’s six-year run, it has kept him from doing anything major as far as the big screen is concerned.

But after doing voice work for Valiant, Stuart Little 3, and Monster and Aliens, Laurie may just make that precarious jump from small screen glory to headlining in a feature film, with a much buzzed-about May-December-themed dramatic comedy, reports the Los Angeles Times.

And not only that. Oranges – a dark, dramatic comedy about an older man who has an affair with the daughter of a family friend – may mark the reunion of Laurie, 50, reportedly in talks to play the lead role of the creepy older guy, with Gossip Girl villainess Leighton Meester, who is being considered to play either the female lead or some other role.

Meester has appeared on two episodes of House as Ali, an underage girl who had an obsessive crush on House, so it’s not exactly unexplored territory for the two. She came to the clinic with her father who had a cold, and soon started calling the clinic obsessively to talk to him and show up in random places. She also sent him a Fresno calendar so he could count down the six months until she turns 18.

It was revealed later, however, that Ali had a spore in her brain from an earthquake while she was in California.

Mila Kunis, from That 70s Show and now doing voice for Family Guy, is also a top candidate for the other half of the May-December affair. The project, penned by Jay Reiss and Ian Helfer, is still in the works. It has, to its credit, bagged a spot on 2008’s Black List of best unproduced works, a list that includes, among others, Inglorious Basterds and the upcoming comedy The Beaver.

On the hit series House, Lisa Edelstein has always been in the shadow of Hugh Laurie, who plays the medical drama’s dominating lead doctor. But now she’s getting a chance to put her own character, Dr. Lisa Cuddy, front and center in tonight’s all-new episode.

But that’s not to say that one key question won’t remain: Will Cuddy and House ever get beyond the sexual tension and have a relationship? Parade.com’s Jeanne Wolf found out that Edelstein is hedging her bets.

Finally, turning the spotlight on Cuddy.
“As an audience member, when you see this episode you can never watch the series again without knowing what her world is like and how House disrupts it. Some viewers have complained that people don’t think that Cuddy is very good at her job. I don’t really think they’ve known what her job is. You get a real glimpse into what it means to run a hospital. Now, maybe they’ll understand.”

What is was like.
“I’m in every scene and I’ve never had that opportunity. I think that everyone kind of waits to see how you’re gonna handle the pressure, but it’s not like someone’s gonna tell you how. I knew I could do it because I love working and I love being asked to run with it.”

She wasn’t always like that.
“I was pretty shy when I was young, but you get self confidence. I think it just builds over time. I’ve always thrown myself into different kinds of experiences, sometimes into really bad things. But, you grow up. You become more of a woman and you know yourself. I think knowing yourself is a wonderful thing especially when you’re in your 40’s and you’re kind of in your skin. Life is not so confusing anymore.”

So will she and House get together?
“I don’t know because the writers don’t tell me, so I would hate to guess. I think sometimes you just want to be in the relationship that looks good on paper, like what she has with Lucas. But I’m not sure that really works. So if it doesn’t work, I guess what Cuddy would do is really take a shot at the thing that excites her most. But that’s going to sound like a spoiler, and it actually isn’t because I haven’t the faintest idea what’s going to happen.”

What shaped her expectations of relationships.
“I don’t think I’m different from anybody else. We get it from Hollywood, we get it from books and movies, and that’s unfortunate because it’s really not what it’s like. I think a lot of people have to spend a lot of time recovering from make-believe. In real life, coming to terms with a human being as a human being who isn’t a fantasy object can be both disappointing and remarkably rewarding, but it’s an extra step that we all have to take.”

Her own take.
“I don’t think just because people are together that they’re happy. I don’t think relationships necessarily make people happy. You just are happy or you’re not happy. So I think if Cuddy and House ever to get together, there would be no loss of whatever personal misery they might be going through.”

Playing a single mom.
“Life has changed for Cuddy since she became a foster parent. I don’t think that anyone can prepare for raising a child. I think it’s one of those jobs that is far more overwhelming than you could ever expect and far more satisfying than you can ever expect. For me, just being how old I am, I know I don’t want to be a single mom. I really would rather make it a two-person job. But I’ve also come to terms with not being a mother at all. I’m actually really good with either direction that my life can take as being a valid experience. But as Cuddy, I feel I’m representing single working moms and I feel they’re unsung heroines.”

What’s driving her.
“You can’t do things unexpected in life if you’re not willing to take a risk, and it’s easier to risk your own life than it is for your parent to watch you take risks. It’s very, very hard for parents to see children doing things that aren’t a solid path. I’ve been through that.”
